Mopane Tree with African Wood-Hoopoe

” This new range of 100 % silk scarves, 90cm x 90cm each with hand-rolled and sewn hems were originally hand painted artworks done for the private Game Lodge in Botswana, Sabi-Sabi. The lodge is situated in the Delta with all the original water colour artworks in each suite throughout the lodge. The original artworks were then high resolution scanned and made into these unique silk scarves. This selection are the Limited Edition Series.

‘Mopane Tree with African Wood-Hoopoe” : Under the Mopane tree you can typically find the giant ant hills, the deep red mud stacked by these little ants built up creating mounds of soil. I have drawn in pencil the elements of the ants as well whats found underground in their nests. The Mopane tree attracts the African Wood Hoopoe eating the Mopane worm. As seen in the design the giant Mopane worm and Moth is depicted alongside drawn in the pencil sketch of the Mopane seed pod and leaves.
